Main entrance: first round of decluttering and cleaning w/ before/after photos.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I began cleaning the main entrance area right away, so I don't have the real before photos to show you guys. But picture this: the entrance to a house ho has been sutting empty for over a year, cobwebs and  dust everyhere. The main door was cluttered with lots of flower pots, with dead flowers in them. Lots of rocks and knicks-knacks gathering dust on the windowsills. All doors and windows painted in a gloomy, dark gray - as much as I love the color gray, it wasn't siting nicely this house, ho is in bad need of a fresh coat of paint in a happier shade.

So here is how the entrance to the house looked, once the dead flower pots where removed (they were sitting where the broom is on the pic, right in the middle of way):

Detail of small niche/window, at the right side of door (I decluttered it before taking the pic):

Now, this is it all looks after 3 rounds of cleaning/decluttering:

You can see at the bottom left of the pic above, the big piles of rocks I took away from the niche/windosill.

Here's what the niche looks like, after:

I planted wildflowers seeds in the small black ceramic planter, they are still to grow and bloom. Here's another vie, a bit blurred, sorry:

Here is a view of the kitchen window, asfter a thorough cleaning session. It's on the right side, at the bottom of the stairs leading to main entrance door.

As for a new paint color, I started to experiment with Farrow & Ball's "Ball Green", which a light, slightly yellow, olive green. It looks beautiful - pics coming soon. Here's what Ball Green loks like, from a pic found on the Farrow & Ball's site:

Entryway before/after - setting a landing strip

Before: lots of clutter gathering on the stairway and near the front door, no entryway as such and of course no landing strip.

After: you can see a detail of the landing strip, with a mock japanese ceramic tray to gather keys, a wooden stand for hats, a calendar, a vase and a floor lamp.

AFTER, GENERAL VIEW:
